ASHRAE is an international society of heating, refrigerating and air-conditioning professionals.
Founded in 1894, ASHRAE is dedicated to advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow's built environment today.
ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of the American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE, founded 1894) and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE, founded 1904).
In 2012, as part of a rebranding, ASHRAE began doing business as "ASHRAE" rather than its full legal name, reflecting the Society's worldwide membership and the global evolution of its services.
About the Cyprus Chapter
The Cyprus Chapter (Chapter No. 203, Region XIV) is based in Nicosia and brings together engineers, consultants, contractors, academics, manufacturers and students working in HVAC&R and the built environment across Cyprus.
We organise technical talks, workshops and networking events, support local students, and connect Cyprus professionals to ASHRAE's standards, research and global community.
